Hey there, I'm Juan Lugo, and my story is a blend of heritage, reinvention, and a deep connection to family roots. Growing up in the lively streets of Washington Heights, Manhattan, I've always felt a strong tie to my Dominican heritage, thanks to my parents who migrated to the U.S. in the '80s.

After four years in the United States Air Force, including deployments to Iraq, I transitioned into the tech industry. Over the past decade, I've found my niche in Product Management and Marketing at SaaS startups, where my adaptability and diverse skill set have opened doors to impactful roles.

But no matter where my career took me, my heart remained tethered to the Dominican Republic, where my grandfather, Doroteo Fermin Delgado, once cultivated tobacco for La Aurora, the oldest handmade cigar manufacturer in the country.

Inspired by his legacy, I embarked on a journey to honor him and our family's heritage. Founding Don Doroteo, a cigar company named after my grandfather, felt like a natural step. Our debut release, El Legado, is a tribute to his memory and the tradition of Dominican cigar craftsmanship.

Partnering with La Aurora, we've launched El Legado, a blend rolled in 2008, using tobaccos meticulously aged. From the lush fields of the Yaque Valley to the Ecuador Sumatra wrapper and a unique blend of Colombian, Dominican, and Nicaraguan fillers, every aspect of El Legado reflects my commitment to preserving our family's legacy while embracing innovation.
